Well I haven't written in awhile, but I haven't been flying much. I flew wayyyy too much in December (reasoning behind the previous bitter posts). I sat reserve in January and was hardly used and that was fine by me. I haven't flown with any crazies like in December so I'm starting to believe that I'm the crazy one :) Well I retract that statement because I did work with one insane woman last month but I won't get into that. It exhausts me to even think of how crazy she is much less explain her insanity in words. But I will say that I have watched many of the interviews with the crew of US 1549 pertaining to the accident on January 15 and I must say that they are wonderful and deserve all the credit they receive. I remember watching the people evacuating that plane and thinking that could have easily been me and I freaked out a little bit. I never think twice about having an incident on the plane. Its so much more dangerous when I'm behind the wheel of a car, trust me, than being on a plane. I love my job and what its really about...saving your ass, not kissing it. Ok so maybe my job is about customer service but we are there primarily to save your life in case of an emergency. During 4 weeks of training, we focused on evacuations, medical emergencies, etc. which is something we hope we never have to encounter, and we only spent a half a day learning how to serve drinks and snacks which is something we do every day. Of course I can't expect something bad to happen everytime I step foot onto an aircraft, but I damn sure better be prepared in case it does...and I am. I'm just so thankful that everyone made it off the plane alive and for the most part safely.
